Spectrum Dance Ensemble Artistic Director
Pearl holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance with a Teaching of
Dance Emphasis from the University of California at Irvine. In 1989,
Pearl was selected to attend the California State Summer School for
the Arts at Cal Arts in Valencia, CA and was honored by Governor
George Dukmejian as a California Arts Scholar. Pearl's training began
with Ann Hall and later Melinda Shaner in the Yucaipa area. She has
studied with Paul Maure, Donald McKayle, Bernard Johnson, Buddy
Schwimmer, Keith Clifton, Christine Baltes, and Brian Vernon.
Pearl's performance credits include Disneyland Parades and Shows as
well as special events for KLOS radio station and the Harris'
Corporation. Her love of children, dance, and teaching inspired her to
open Dance Spectrum in October 1999.
Recently, Pearl was recognized by Assemblyman Paul Cook & the
California Legislature for Excellence in Choreography for Yucaipa High
School's production of West Side Story.
Pearl's students have been accepted into some of the nation's most
prestigious summer dance programs including American Ballet
Theater, The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, The Joffrey Ballet,
State Street Ballet of Santa Barbara, Inland Pacific Ballet, Tap Kids, &
the California State Summer School for the Arts.

Stacey Ordaz
Teacher & Spectrum Dance Ensemble Co-Director
Stacey has danced since the tender age of 3 and enjoys teaching
dance to children & adults. Stacey is active in the community
having taught dance at Crafton Hills College and choreographing
for the The Miss Beaumont-Cherry Valley Pageant and the Mt.
View Junior High Choir. Stacey's Hip-Hop choreography for
SDE's"Space Jam" dance placed 1st place at the Hollywood Vibe
Dance Competition in Palm Springs.

Brett Ordaz
Tap & Hip-Hop Teacher & SDE Taps Director
Brett honed her performance skills as a member of Dance
Spectrum's performing group Spectrum Dance Ensemble
for 9 years. She has studied at renowned tap programs
including Tap Kids, Tap Sounds Underground, and Slide.
She currently studies under Sarah Reich and is member of
the tap dance company, Tap con Sabor of which Sarah is
the founder and Artistic Director. Brett has appeared on
television and has performed with Tap con Sabor at major
tap festivals including the D.C., New Jersey, and L.A. Tap
Fests. Brett has also had the opportunity to learn from
Chloe Arnold as the latter choreographed a tap solo for
Brett which she won top overall score for ages 12 and up
at various dance competitions. Brett successfully
completed the Teacher Apprenticeship Program at Dance
Spectrum in 2005.
Kelly Ivy Ballet, Tap, & Jazz Teacher & SDE Choreographer
Kelly trained at Dance Spectrum for seven years and has been on the teaching staff since 20 She successfully completed the Dance Spectrum Teacher Apprenticeship Program in 2007. As a member of Spectrum Dance Ensemble for 2 years, Kelly competed at various dance adjudications and performed throughout Southern California.
Kelly is graduate of Cal State San Bernardino and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communications.

Jesse L. Ongpin
Ballroom Dance Teacher
Jesse DeLeon Ongpin is an International Latin dance instructor from Los
Angeles who specializes in all 5 styles: Cha Cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble and
Jive. Originally a Hip-Hop dancer since the age of 15, Jesse found his way into
ballroom dance in college (Cal Poly Pomona) as a member of the CPP Ballroom
Dance Company. Trained under the direction of BYU Ballroom/Latin Instructor
Wesley Acker – Blackpool England, and Top 10 International Latin Pro Champion
couple Valentin Bachvarov & Yulia Vokhmina; Jesse brings a fresh prospective to
dance that focuses his students on detail and creativity. He holds a Bachelor’s of
Science in Business Administration – Finance, Real Estate, & Law from California State
Polytechnic University Pomona (2008).

Gail Adkinson-De Zon
Guest Ballet Teacher & Choreographer
Gail , at a very young age, was fortunate enough to receive
training from some of the world’s most renowned teachers
including Vitale Fokine and Matt Mattox, the “Father of
American Jazz Dance”.
Gail attended the Boston Conservatory of Music where she
began student teaching. She then moved to New York City
where she broadened her dance education. In 1975, she
and a partner opened a dance studio in Brooklyn, New York
which is still in existence today. Gail choreographed for the
Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parades and Macy’s special tap
events for the Guiness Book of World Records. She has
taught at the prestigious New Jersey School of Ballet as
well as at numerous studios in New Jersey, Ohio, and
California. Gail was recognized by the National Foundation
for the Advancement of the Arts for her teaching and was
presented with a certificate of commendation.


Julia Diaz
Gymnastics, Hip-Hop Teacher, and Substitute Teacher (not pictured)
Julia trained at Dance Spectrum for over 12 years. She has performed and
competed as a member of Spectrum Dance Ensemble and was a member of the
Beaumont High School Cheer Squad. Her solo jazz dance choreography has won
awards at local talent competitions.
Tim Kendall
Gymnastics Teacher (not pictured)
Tim has performed as an acrobat and dancer in various theme parks including
Disneyland, Tokyo Disneyland, and Magic Mountain. Tim has coached Women's
Gymnastics in Valencia and he is looking foward to teaching at Dance Spectrum.

Alyssa Sherman-Ordaz
Lyrical/Contemporary & Substitue Teacher
SDE Lyrical/Contemporary Choreographer
Alyssa began training at Dance Spectrum in 1999 and
went on to study dance at the California Institute of the
Arts. Alyssa attended the California State Summer
School for the Arts and was recognized as a California
Arts Scholar by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. She
studied at the summer programs of the prestigious Alvin
Ailey School of Dance in New York, the State Street
Ballet of Santa Barbara, and the Inland Pacific Ballet.
Alyssa was recognized by Channel 7 as a Southern
California "Cool Kid" for her achievements in dance and
her work in teaching children at Dance Spectrum. Alyssa
has been a featured dancer in Magic Mountain's Thriller
and is actively pursuing her goals in the performing arts.
